Mega-update!

Since posting this thread I've added 2 more pink deluxe models (Connie & Polerouter). Even though the Movado isn't formally a deluxe model, it does have a solid gold dial, so I'm including it here.

Very nice! Need more UG, especially the black dial De Luxe 😉

Strangely enough, out of all those deluxe, the one that really clicks with me is the movado. Precisely because it is so strange. Then again, i am a 20+ year old who deals exclusively with vintage watches, am I not strange enough hahah

These solid gold dials do have a layer of lacquer over them, so dial cleaning can have disastrous results.

My heart sank into my boots when my watchmaker when I picked up my watch from service uttered "oh by the way, I've cleaned your dial a bit..." 😲

Luckily he only touched the index ring. Fantastic result

Not sure if this counts; I believe the dial is silver, but everything about it is otherwise in line with the historic De Luxe and Grand Luxe Constellations and Seamasters.

For anyone looking for a deluxe dial watch on a small budget, I have one word: Gruen. There was an example on eBay a little while ago that had a dial strikingly similar to the Movado posted earlier. Unfortunately I can't find the listing at this time.

It might resemble a Deluxe or Grand Luxe but it certainly isn't one. The real deal is in solid gold with a solid gold dial and if on a bracelet then that is solid gold too
