I came across this De Ville today with a concentric dial. I have found exactly two photos of a similar dial. One, an old listing on Timezone and one on OF from earlier this year. Neither tell me anything about the reference. Is this a legit watch? Any thoughts on the reference?
Last attempt and then I'll let it die. I like the look of the watch. Is there information about the unusual dial that someone can point me to?
I wish I could help but I've not seen one of these either Was hoping someone would respond to enlighten me too -,sorry about the cat thing.....
No need to apologize, it was one of the livelier threads. I enjoyed seeing that this board actually has a sense of humor.
I think it could be original, I've seen one or two others as well. These DeVilles sometimes had funky dials with striped examples as well. Not too much info on them though.
I'm finding that out. Thanks for the info you could provide. I am most interested if the dial is correct because it would really assist me with my hypnosis practice.
I own the one from from the old Timezone post, and I can assure you it's legit. I can't speak for any of the other watches, but mine was an award watch; sometimes unusual dials or treatments were reserved for limited production watches. I also have a Rolex Tudor Prince in 14k (with all three words on the dial) that was produced in the 50s for Optimists International in the US as presentation watches for their past presidents and ranking national officers. Some times the "experts" will deny their existence or question their authenticity, but that's only because they're hesitant to admit they don't know everything . . .
I just acquired one my self and all indications are that the watch is legit. The one I acquired is all original with original BOR band
