It would be especially AMAZING, if we could use this rubber bracelet on the Moonshine Apollo 11 AND now, we can also find a leather strap option with the buckle in Moonshine gold…. Right @hansmaulwurf !?
The Speedy has always been a Daytona killer in my opinion.
In the looks department at least...
I still respect the Daytona for what it is though.
I don't know boys, the proportion of the Daytona is better and more cohesive.
At msrp, Daytona all day. At current market, I'll give the win to panda Speedy.
A solid gold Rolex is hard to argue with.
Not trying to put the Daytona down at all (and still hoping to add one to my collection at some point), but a key strength of the Speedy is the ease of reading time and elapsed time thanks to its monochromatic design.
Not just that, but the Daytona's squished indexes look like amorphous blobs while the minute/running seconds track doesn't have any space to breathe. It certainly is an aesthetic, it's just not legible, practical, or clean.
Just never liked the Daytona enough to buy one, even when they were relatively inexpensive and obtainable. Speedmaster all the way.
It's just silly not to appreciate the Daytona's merits, no matter how annoying Rolex fan bois are
* 12.2mm thick
* column wheel
* vertical clutch
* -2/+2 secs / day (rated)
* 72 hour reserve
* Cerachrom bezel
any of which I would take in a Speedmaster.
Yes you can get a 3861 that may be more accurate than -2/+2 but it's spec'd for 0/5+ so could run +5 and be "within spec"
Biggest nag to me is unscrewing the pushers to be able to start and stop the chrono.
