Daytona 16520 X series (1991) question

Is that acrylic or sapphire?
The previous owner put in the acrylic crystal but I have the original sapphire crystal.
It does look good though with the acrylic crystal !

it really is amazing how much these have gone up in value since the 116500 was released. i almost bought one for $8/9k right after the released and passed like an idiot. add that to the long list of watches I didnt buy that have gone bonkers.
In a similar bateau ... I sold mine (black dial) - in fairness because it's completely illegible (and my eyes are old). I've been hankering for a white dial one, but they cost about 50% more now ... I'm too annoyed at myself to pull the triggger (yet)!

I still have very good eyes, but I am completely with you- it's completely illegible...

I already dropped it off of my bedside table once, trying to read the time...馃槻

I never even thought of putting an acrylic christal in there ... wish I had given it a try now!

You will love it and can clearly see the dial! Anyway, you can always go back to the sapphire crystal anytime.

Ever since I saw this I am wondering WHAT acrylic fits this watch??? It's a great idea!

I sold it already, so I gotta find a new one now ... this time last year it was easy to find one ~$10-12k .... not now 馃槨
