    Hi all,

Really want to have a daytona for some time. But since steel rolex prices is getting out of hand, i have to leave it at that for some time.

Been offered a 116520 black dial, random serie, no box paper for 16.2k usd locally ( save time, fees and trouble). Do you guys think I should pull the trigger?

Why not wait for a 90s one instead. Your more or less around that price right there. My opinion.
Well prices have changed. So it wouldn’t be with box papers though.

    Hi

At this end of the market, no box or paper will affect any future resale. Also without photos it’s hard to say, as it depends on condition and to an extent on year. If it helps, in the UK, I can get a black dialled 116520 with box and papers and serviced for around $17k...

I dont think 16520 is available at this price even wirh no box and paper. All above 20k for a general normal dial not even patrizzi or floating dial. Dman

Have you tried one on? Most people, myself included, find the black dial hard to read. It’s a beauty, but I’d make sure you have a chance to check out the dial first in person if you haven’t already

I was also wondering about whether this was £ or $. I never owned one of these but I've seen others and I do fine thd dial hard to read. I'm putting it down to my age!

The white dial is also hard to read. I had a 116520 white dial that I bought with box and papers 3 years ago for $10,200. Wish I had kept it (and my BLNR).

At that price, make sure you love it. You aren’t far from aftermarket 116500 territory.

Indeed, the white dial is quite hard to read.

I love my 116520 white dial, still my favorite Rolex but then I’m biased since I’ve got one, sold my BLNR, thinking of selling my hulk and 1680 ghost bezel sub but never the Daytona

Sold mine for this very reason .... prices jumped immediately! Wish I had hung into it, and fitted a hesalite crystal as someone else had done, which I only discovered after - instantly more readable.

First time hearing it, can it increase readibility for real?

With no box and paper you can find nice piece under at 20k
    example : https://www.chrono24.com/rolex/daytona--id11455191.htm
Bezel have been polished a little too much but still a decent watch.

It cut out most of the surface reflection which was a large part of the unreadability for me. It’s still not a hugely legible design, but it was definitely better
