Personally would not agree. I like daylight savings and find it beneficial to my interests.
As for reducing the time zone, they are there for a reason, the earth rotates !
In fields where complete earth uniformity is needed we have it, it's called Greenwich mean time; + or - Zulu

To me it just means an hour more or a hour less of work twice a year. Unfortunately tonight will be an hour extra of work. :(

It's time to do away with the current system imo.

I've always wondered how to interpret the TV guide listings at 0200 on these nights.

@M.D. has it right. Leave Daylight savings in place year round. Saves time, money, energy, it's foolishness to go back and forth.

How about leaving standard time in place all year? I hate waking up in the dark most of the time.

If you just keep standard time as others suggest, and perhaps have pacific and eastern and eliminate mountain and central, it should be just as fine imo.

On a related note...why do add the extra day on leap year on Feb 29. Why not June 31? Would you rather have an extra day in winter or an extra day in summer?

Personally, I think we should just get rid of time altogether. It’s an irritation. And then we could just admire our watches for what they are, without having to reset them every few days...

The problem with that is I wouldn’t have anything else to stress about +/- seconds every day, since I don’t play any timed competitive sport

It’s ‘daylight saving’ folks. No ‘s’ at the end.

I personally don't like daylight saving, I am not a fan of a late rising late setting sun; I would happily standard time year round. As for daylight saving helping to synchronize America's clocks, that was done by adopting railroad time. The only problem that the uniform time act solved was to make the entire country begin and end daylight saving on the same date and to coerce everyone and every business into adopting it.
