I think most would agree Omega killed Rolex this year at Baselworld. But with that said, I think my #1 desired watch is from Rolex


Totally dig the blue dial but already have a blue Globemaster and they do share a lot of similar features, so the white/cream dial it is. This is a redesigned from clunky DJII, restoring classic proportions.

Definatelly last year was Rolex's year, this year Omega's , at least if we obly look at those 2 brands.

As for this model, i have ti see it in person, but im not a great fan of the bezel

I agree but if I am buying a moon phase dress watch I would rather get another brand (JLC, Blancpain, and GO comes to mind)

 

Easy, you just cut out circular piece of paper with two half crescents, and then just glue it over the moon portion of the dial.

That one is quite gorgeous though, and I like what they're doing with the current Cellini design language.

I THINK I get it...assuming the disc rotates clockwise and the indicator is that arrow at "12" of the subdial, that's a waning moon, but since there's so much space between full and new, I'd say it's waning gibbous, maybe a day past full?

 

Who cares how you read it? Seriously anyone really care about what the moon looks like that day? It's pretty. Very pretty. But at $26k... nope

 

I really like the blue sunburst 41mm DJ and don't mind the bling fluted bezel. Will try to get one in the future.

That being said, part of the reason I love the JLC is bc it looks like a Rolex Padellone. Great to see Rolex release a Moonphase, just wish it was in an Oyster case. I'm hoping there will be more dials available for the DJ bc the above do nothing for me. The DD40 was the perfect update for the President; the dimensions are perfect and the watch is so balanced. Curious to see how the DJ compares.

 

Troublesome blue colour! Got me in trouble! Just bought it.

 

Gorgeous one. In case they release it in white gold I would definitely go for it.

That was quite informative and I didn't see it on the Rolex site when I looked. Appreciate you sharing. Was at a Rolex AD this weekend and they haven't gotten any of the Cellini Moonhphases in as of yet.
