I have not bought a watch in two years. Lost the itch for quite a while This post is about the one that woke me up from the long sleep - and it happened for a reason (OK - some reasons). I do like chronometers (a lot), hi beat movements, cushion cases, etc. - and I do like Longines as a brand. I also like watches in good condition. Found this ref 8071-1 in 2011 - locally and dirt cheap. Pulled the trigger and I have enjoyed it since. A short while later I saw this black/grey dial chronometer rated ultra-chron for sale but did not win the action. Should have gone higher. Regret. (sellers pics - at least five years old) Today I did not hesitate and won. Auction house pic first and a couple of pics from a friend who had a look at the watch live on my behalf. Watch 62 added to the collection. I will get back with my own pictures when I got in my hand.
Welcome back to the habit! a 431 chronometer ain't common and this looks to be in great shape! Congrats! My non chronometer example says hi!
A cushion of a different shape says hello: First Dennis, now you. Good to see all of you coming back home. gatorcpa
Hey J, how's tricks? Good to see you here. Nice snag on the 431 Chronometer. You know I love C-cases, plus the grey crosshair dial, and . I think I still have a silver dial C-case U-C Chronometer around here somewhere.
This thread reminded me I had this chunky hidden away somewhere. Found it, just to show a somewhat less desirable model .
Do you have the brochure for 8351? Mine posted above is the most left one, and I have it recorded as 8353.
Sorry for the confusion, I didn't put the reference according to the position on my picture. Here is a brochure (found some time ago here on OF)
Useful brochure! It is a 8353, not 8351. Both yours (most left,) and mine (above). The Swiss made is at the most bottom of the dial, and font is Times New Roman.
