Dear ΩF

For your consideration is my beautiful Omega Speedmaster "Ed Brown".

This one has given me immense pleasure over the years, and I am likely going to regret selling it. But a big incoming means space needs making ...

This is a head-only sale. The movement was fully serviced by my Omega-certified watchmaker in 2020.

My Opinion On Tropical Speedmasters

I have seen (on this forum, instagram etc) a lot of tropical 145.022-69's ... and a lot of tropical 2998's ... but very few tropical 105.003's.
There is a spectrum of 'tropical' from 'shagged' ---> 'can I trade my significant other'.
And mostly they are not that attractive.
This one is attractive, and closer to the 'can I trade my significant other'-end of the spectrum than 'shagged', but its not perfect, and I believe I have priced it accordingly.

Bezel, Dial and Hands

I will let the following pictures do the talking. Clicking them should yield super high resolution pics.
Currently we have lots of rain and so the following shots are in rather unflattering light conditions.
Light conditions aside, the chocolate dial is clear to see...and that's the pleasurable thing about chocolate dials ... the chocolate changes with lighting.
Money-shots will be at the end of the sales post.

The original DON bezel is well loved with some wear, but overall is an attractive specimen.

The dial is just beautiful.
In the overcast light it looks to be an 85% cocoa Lindt.
In good sunlight it looks like milk-chocolate.
Such a pleasure!

The dial itself has no flaws other than those induced by the process that made it tropical.
Thankfully the tritium lume maintained a beautiful color, and didn't go dirty.
Anything that looks like a line or a scratch is the crystal, and not the dial.

Here is a black-light lume collage of 8 pictures from top left to right taken over about a 40s.

The tritium hands patina matches the dial nicely.
These hands are not original to the watch - they are NOS tritium vintage hands I lucked upon.
If you do your research and compare positions of the spear and lengths of the tip etc, you will see that these are what one would expect for the period.
Why did I change the original hands?
They were totally shagged in an ugly way (paint missing near the stems, thick blobs of repaint etc etc) and detracted from the character of the watch ... IMHO this is a vast improvement.

The Case

This is another strong point of this beauty.
This is what the factory original finishing on a 105.003-65 looks like, with the extremely fine brushing also appearing on the bevel.
Compare the same reference watch on the OP of this thread to see what I mean if you are unfamiliar, or drop me a PM.

Look at these bevels...

Caseback

Worth noting the SP designation. A few -65's have this. Theory is it has to do with improved pushers.

Movement

As mentioned, serviced by my Omega certified watchmaker in 2020.

MONEY SHOTS

Terms and conditions. 16000 CHF (USD | EURO | GBP equivalent) OBRO wired directly to my Wise account. Bank-wire will be local to you, so no stress there. More currencies are available upon request. No trades this time thanks.

The watch and I are in Switzerland, and so F2F could happen here. I could arrange to meet at a border location (e.g. Germany...to be discussed). I will accept a wire directly to my Swiss bank account too, however that will be in CHF, and will thus cost you conversion and transfer fees. Paypal F&F will be accepted, in CHF as specified. I use Wise as it saves you on these fees, and is a local transaction for us both. Returns are accepted only if grossly misrepresented. You will get what you see in these pictures which are of a decent quality and high resolution, so I don't believe there is any chance of misrepresentation.

Shipping (plus insurance) to wherever you are in the world will be at your expense (to be discussed). EU postage can be arranged.

Lots of references here.

I have 100% positive reviews (upon request) on other platforms too.

All criticisms about the watch are welcome.

Thanks ΩF for this space

One of the most beautiful chocolate dials out there. Great seller not to mention Eugene is a top bloke as well. Congrats to both seller and buyer.
