Love these watches...yet to acquire one. Does this piece look correct?
In particular, is the dial OK and I've not seen a photo with hands with this many lumed sections before? Looks cool, but four sections on the minute hand?

    Thank you for your thoughts!

At the least, the dial and hands are relumed. Might be a complete redial too.

Also the key on these is the Military marking on the back (which you have not pictured) else it's just a civilian version of the watch.

If by "proper" you mean original, I don't agree. I don't believe that the lume on the hands could be that bright and clean, not to mention dissonant with the dial lume, on a watch of that age.

The original watch posted is a complete redial.

Here's what an original one might look like:

I mean 'definitely not a re-dial, and at least the hands are correct even if they might have been relumed at some point in the past' - I have no affiliation with the seller, but I think he can be trusted on the quality of his offerings...

Also that might be why it's <3k - I've seen better looking ones go for up to 4....

No "might" about it, so I'd reconsider your opinion of his claims.

Seriously, this is pretty basic stuff. There are often disparities between dial and hand lume color, but you will never see anything like that on a fully original dial and hand set. Furthermore, you are very unlikely to find original yellow lume on a watch that age that remains so bright and clean.

I agree it does look a bit bright on the picture - that might be the style of the photography highlighting that though, all the images look a little surreal.... Anyway I think we have three examples of correct dials here for the OP to familiarize himself with. And as I posted above, the color discrepancy and dial condition (very faded Lume) is likely a factor in the relatively lower price

OP watch is def. redial and hands are not original.
    Case looks overpolished.
    Id find another.

    Agree though, a great watch!

Thank you, one and all, for your guidance on this one. I shall keep looking. Interesting how Tudor66's old piece has the same hands as the one in question (only other example I've seen like that).

Love the Longines, but not a fan of the enamel dial, or enamel dials in general.... Overcame that dislike and a few months ago bought what looked like a nice example, but it arrived with the dial spiderwebbed with hairlines, and back it went. So many of these are chipped on the edges or have hairlines. Personally, I would prefer a nice example of the last execution, with metal dial like @LarryG has.

I agree with you from most examples I've seen. That's what attracted me to the example originally in question, which appears to be too clean to be true. There's a seller with a couple earlier examples on TZ (not sure how proper), but no military markings on back.
