CWC markings are suspicious.

I have just bought a CWC with the following markings but I’m try year of issue 2015 is a major concern.
cwc watch W10/6645-99 5415317 45299/15

Everywhere I read there are conflicting information. I thought they stopped supplying the forces with these watches in 2008 but somewhere around supplying to civilians and with replica markings. But there are no traces if shy in 2015.
Seller insists the watch is legit.
Can anyone help enlighten if the watch is authentic or not?

It looks OK to me. The only question is the date (2015).
I don't know when CWC stopped making these for the MoD, or if it's a re-issue.

Either way, it wouldn't worry me, I'd have one.

Even though the URL says 'no-date', the image clearly carries a date.
By "no date" I think. they mean this Mike.

My understanding is that the latest they were issued by MOD in 2008 as you say. Cabot continued making them ever since. Indeed the MOD date is stated as 2008 on the CWC website.

One way to tell is if a G10 is original is whether it is water resistant. The real thing basically wasn’t. Dunk it and if it doesn’t fog up immediately it’s prob not original issue! Not ideal for military use really. A friend of mine destroyed one on his pilot escape and evasion course.

Mine (since sold) was a different model and this is what I gleaned about the numbers on the caseback.

I kept very good relations with my pet box packers. It made it much easier if we had to sentence an old 303 barrel (or any old bit of crap) as a "Worn beyond limits, Barrel Complete - L1A1".
And many other transcations that would be frowned upon nowadays.

I think they’re probably still making and selling them. They tick all the boxes for a military field watch

The issued G10s were all quartz too. It was the first quartz watch issued to British forces, around 1980 or so.

I thought they stopped issuing these to the armed forces in 2008 and only issuing them in few numbers to a special branch or the forces but very sporadically. The plot thickens.

Theres a Guy in Instagram JJ Hughes, has the wesbite CWC Addict, he knows everything there is to know about CWC's he will tell you if its pukka.

Thats not issued. CWC didnt use the circled logo until 1982ish and the 8290 W10 watch was not issued in 1982 when the Quartz models had taken over the helm from1980 onwards

CWC have 're-issued' this model for civilian sale however.!

I have just received an email from CWC and they have confirmed that this is indeed a retail model issued in 2015 and that has put my mind at easy.
