I realize this will not be everyone's cup of tea. I have always loved those alpha hands though. I know, I know. They never went on a dial with the word "professional", never were paired with this chrono hand, and were never on an 861 (probably among many other things!). However, I love them. Archer was kind enough to source them for me. I tinted the lume a bit to age it so as to match the rest of the watch condition. BEFORE AFTER
I very much enjoy modifying watches and I quite like those hands on it. I think I would probably go with a plain silver center second hand. What model are the hands from?
ah yes from the new FOIS, they have a great shape. I had thought to use those on my Mitsukoshi dial MkII but decided to buy a set of the Broad Arrow hands instead Now you have the vintage look without the huge cost
Ok now I am tempted to modify my 105.003 with these FOIS hand, too. If I keep the original hands it should retain its value right?
I don't see how switching the originals back on would decrease the value when it came time to sell. As long as the watch isn't damaged in any way with the hand swaps.
I like the hands, however I would have gone further and included the sweep second hand and a new bezel. Right now you have parts on the watch that are mismatched with respect to the age they show. There are a couple of different bezels out there that would be appropriate - the decemeter and pulsemetric. I think with a new bezel the watch would really pop.
