Hi, does anyone know of a company or individual who would build a watch case to order? I have a vintage chronograph movement and am considering a project. I’m an architect, so a designer, but don’t have the tools and machinery to make the case and other parts. Thank you for any advice wjr
Might want to find someone on etsy to make one for you; there are a lot of woodworkers on there who will do custom work. On a side note, I would not tell them you are an architect or they may charge extra
just to clarify...I'm not looking to build a watch box, but a watch case...to house the movement. I want to have a custom watch made. thanks
thanks for your response...want a watch case to house the movement...not a watch box. designing my own watch
Not gunna be cheap. What movement are we talking about. Might be able to buy a case from cousins or the like
You might want to try Peter Wuischpard, here. https://www.watchcaserepair.com/peter They repair and fabricate watch cases. The firm of Schwab & Wuischpard were case makers for the Hamilton Watch Co., back in the day.
There is a guy in Jakarta, Indonesia who was making bronze watch cases for a number of Seiko movements and his work is pretty sensational. http://forums.watchuseek.com/f21/my-turtle-bronzo-progress-2942418.html I assume he is still making various cases and I believe these are his contact details Manufacturer is this man: Mr. Ridwan .... from ..... Cimahi, Bandung, Indonesia Email is : [email protected] https://www.instagram.com/monteurhorloges/
I just went to the Vortic Watch site...Looks like they do custom work as well. I'd add them to your list.
Amazing! I’m not the only “windmill” fighter! I have exactly the same project with the same movement. Would you kindly let me know whether you managed to find a case, and if so, the source and the cost? I would be tremendously obliged. Cheers
