Crystal fitting for a seamaster 300 166.024

Hi anyone got any experience on fitting a new crystal on the vintage 166.024? The current crystal that is fitted is not omega signed so must have been aftermarketed at some service point. I pressed the old one out and reinstalled easily enough but I’m guessing that the new one will need a bit different install
Has the genuine omega crystal got a tension ring internal or external? Will it need a crystal press and can it be done without removing the bezel? It’s a old Bakelite bezel so don’t really want to remove and risk damage

If you’re asking these questions you shouldn’t be risking doing the job yourself on such a valuable vintage seamaster.

Tension ring on the inside, and you will need a press with the correct type of dies.

Thank you this is what I was expecting, the crystal comes today, I was a little concerned that it would be wedge type using a crystal claw which would have needed the bezel removed for fitting
