    Hi!
I'm so glad to finally join this forum. I've been reading terrific insights from experts and long-time members to increase my knowledge on vintage Omega.

I'm currently checking out on a certain vintage Omega Seamaster which I inherited from my late parent.

This vintage Omega Seamaster is on Cal 562, gold capped on SS with date. It is on a crosshair dial but no minute markers. I haven't come across a picture of said watch that is cross hair dial with no minute marker so I am wondering if it is a redial or if that combination possible for this watch? I also plan to bring the watch to check the reference number.

Many thanks for any inputs you can share.

No way to tell you anything without pictures.

Bring your camera. Hint -- use "macro" mode and no flash.

Many thanks for your inputs! Here is the initial picture I have recently taken on the dial with the crown while wearing it. The lugs are 18mm but different in styling.

The hour and minute hands plus the hour indiced are probably onyx-laden, not lume as I initially thought it was. Crown has the logo on it. I just find the dial a bit strange because of the missing minute markers although the cross hair is there.

Additional picture on the movement and side view of the crown.

Would be happy if I can hear your opinion on this watch.

    Many thanks!

I added close up pictures on crown and the lugs which have a different style.

Appreciate your opinion on this watch which is a crosshair dial with no minute markers.

    Many thanks!

Lastly, could it be a redial or a refinished dial?

The watch is keeping up excellent time. Got the brown crocodile straps from the Omega Service Center, which came with the modern buckle.

Could be original could be a redial. Need a close up examination, which would be impossible without having the watch in-hand.

I'm more concerned about the rotor picture. Looks strange to me. Here is a picture of what a cal. 562 should look like:

    Compare with your picture:

Almost looks like someone sheared the weight from the support and soldered it back together.

    Odd looking.

I think what you're looking at is a zoomed circle of where the rotor attaches. That makes it look off.

Could very well be a figment of my two-dimensional brain.

Dial looks refinished to me. What is the serial # of the movement, please?

How often were Seamasters made without minute tracks? I feel like that is a easy tell that it's likely a (lazy) redial.

The watch has a serial number at 19000000. Where do I find the serial number of the movement - is that written at the back of the caseback?

Thanks! That was my initial impression and after seeing many pictures of vintage Omegas in the net, that's why I find the dial to be odd.

Thank you to all who contributed their inputs.

If it is a redial, does it mean it included the crosshair or did they just remove the minute marker during the redial?

Unfortunately I have no one to ask. But what I do remember is that my late parent has a number of watch friends who are into watch trading or watch bracelet manufacturing business. However, this is one watch that I never see it on the wrist when I was growing up, unlike his other Omegas.

Do you have the reference number you mentioned?

Does anyone here have a Seamaster without markings for the minutes? I'm actually curious to find out.
