Plant-based means no animal products. It's more polite than saying "Doesn't contain parts of dead animals."

Along these lines, seeing "fat free" plastered in bold letters on a gigantic package of gummy bears always makes me giggle

·Having children with immunity issues who are gluten free, it is a real health issue. Just ignore it? If I see "contains nuts" I'm not irritated that it's warning some stupid kid they might die.

It's the products labeled gluten-free that are naturally gluten-free that bug me. It's one thing to look for gluten-free bread or frozen waffles, but potato chips don't have gluten but they'll slap gluten-free on the label. On a funny note, there was a car wash in my town with a sign out front "Gluten-Free Car Wash"
It’s not at all that I am unaware, or insensitive to the associated health issues, being gluten-free myself. It’s the co-opting of the phrases and slapping them on anything the even remotely could be related, for nothing other than the desire to catch a consumer and sell more products.
