Not just technically good or crisp photos — but interesting, off-beat, and memorable ones.
I think the real lesson here is that you can snag a nice vintage 1675 for less than one of the new children's GMTs being fought over. Emphasis on children...

Has anyone done much stuff in photoshop with taking multiple macro photos of the same watch, but with different focus points, and then stitching it together?

I believe that's what the pros do, and why you see such complete detail in their shots. Otherwise you see blurriness.

This is called stacking.
I normally don't bother. But, if you are doing professional product photography, then it's must have. Also, when planning to print large.
