Actually, I guess there really isn't a bad reason to want a new watch, but what I did strikes me as a bit nutty. Normally, I buy a watch on the bracelet, then have fun trying different styles/colors of leather. But this time, I had an expensive real alligator that was just wrong on my Speedy. Too much taper (19/16). So what's got 19 mm lug width, is slimmer and smaller, looks dressier, and would look killer on this strap? Clue... it has vertical lines on the dial that "recall the wooden decks of luxury sail boats." Just cleared customs and should be here early next week. Pics when it arrives.

So here it is, and yes...it's quartz. I know.... But in this case, it's just what I was after. Please pardon the dust and smears. I haven't had a chance to clean it up yet.

Anyhow, this was the alligator on the Speedy.

And then here it is on the new arrival.



The AT doesn't overpower the strap nearly as much, IMO. What do you think?
