Does anyone know the significance of the 105.012-66 CB on the cover of Moonwatch Only? Is this a space flown watch from a museum?

Couldn’t find any credits in the book…

Hi ibis,
I just browsed upon this very short article by Anthony Marquie in which at the end he talks about the watch they selected for the cover of the 1st Edition of MWO and I recalled there was a recent question on OF. Sorry this doesn’t answer your query about the specific watch on the cover of the 3rd Edition, and apologies if this is old news, but didn’t know if this was of interest.

t's in really great shape, and looks very nice. That's enough reason for me -- no flown pedigree needed.

Looks more like it was crumbling/ degraded and someone stabilized it. It's the one weak spot I see, and it would be very easy for me to overlook (a -66 CB is my grail)

Agreed, it’s a very nice example with that one flaw.

Hi! Thank you Philip for contacting me.

The watch on the soft cover of MWO 3 is the 105.012-66 CB of Richard Gordon, Apollo 12. It is on loan at the Omega Museum in Bienne.

Apollo 12 CMP astronaut Richard Gordon's NASA-issued Omega Speedmaster 105.012 NASA n° 57, photographed in the "old" Omega museum, where we have better access to the watches as everything was far better displayed...
