Could removal of new-ish lume damage the dial?

Hey folks,

hope I may rely on your expertise and experience here, this is a new one for me. So I’m looking at a 168.029 with a white gold bezel and the blue-grey dial that I’d quite like - if it wasn’t for someone who decided to relume the watch. Badly.

Here’s what’s left of it, please check the indices at 10 and 11:

The fact that only a few of the lume dots remain makes me assume that it can’t be hard to remove them, but I wanted to check with you before pulling the trigger. The aggressively mint color in combination with the subtle dial doesn’t work at all for me, so being able to have the dots removed without damaging the dial would be my condition for the purchase, really.

Your input is greatly appreciated! 😀

IMO not rocket science to remove them securely. All depends on what you plan for the watch. Will you have the dial relumed perfectly with a better matching colour or will you leave the dial without lume?
If you plan the latter: it may be that there some "shadows" of the prior dots might remain visible.

Thanks for the response! Ideally, I’d like to have it redone with lume that looks appropriately aged. I’ll meet my watchmaker next week and ask him if he can do that. Either way, your feedback is what I was looking for, I’ll message the seller. 😀
