I’ve posted elsewhere in this forum but thought I’d start a new thread about a watch I’m looking at. I’m aware the dial has been restored, although it’s quite sympathetically done. I’m concerned about the scoring on the back apparently to help secure caseback more tightly (it seems to work as fit is quite flush). Has anyone else seen this? Would it put you off purchasing, or in this instance trading with my two-tone Rolex 1601.

    Man thanks in advance.

The casebacks got butchered + Redial and the case looks very polished. I honestly wouldn't pay more than 1200$ for it.

The value of these watches is mostly in the dial. I would wait out for one with an original dial

That dial is terrible, it would bother me every time I looked at it and I would never be happy.
