Please help me understand the correct method for manual winding of an Omega1168.028 with 563 movement.

What crown position? Which direction?

I have seen some conflicting information.

Thanks!

Crown all the way in. Clockwise. Like pretty much every watch that winds manually. What conflicting information have you seen, it's hard to imagine anything else.

Somewhere on the interwebs I saw crown all the way out. One direction sets time -- the other winds. That is obviously not the case. I am not so used to vintage watches and keep looking for crown position 1 for winding. I have never had a watch that winds with the tiny crown all the way in before

It may come as a surprise to some, but not everything stated on the internet is correct, or even true.

Aside from screw-down or lock-down crowns, every mechanical watch I've owned (and there have been many, and I still have a hunred or so) wind with the crown at position 1 (depressed/against the case).

Say it isn’t so.
