Hi everybody, this is my first post on this excellent forum and first of all I'd like to say hallo to you all.
I recently bought an Omega 266 with Dennison case 13322 that, according to the serial number of the movement (14.38x.xxx) should be from 1954.
I'm very happy but I'll be happier if I could put on it its original crown.
The seller told me it is not original, and in fact it seems too thick.
However, reading through this forum and elsewhere, I'm not certain whether the crown should bear the Omega logo or not and what shape should it have.
    Ant help?
    Thanks in advance.
    Here's a couple of photos.

Here are the crowns on my 2 13322s. I don't think these came with Omega crowns originally so while yours ain't pretty, it isn't necessarily wrong:

By the way, my cross hairs one above is also 14.38m (14,386,5XX) just like yours and has a 1956 hallmark. Care to share a bit more of your serial, message it if you prefer, Are you sure yours is 1954?

Hi. Thank you. I checked the hallmark and you're right: it's 1956. I wrote 1954 because the 14.xxx.xxx starts from '54, but in fact 15.xxx.xxx starts in 1956. So I suppose it should be around summer 1956.

Of course the movement may indeed be earlier, it would have been manufactured in Switzerland then shipped to Birmingham for casing so it is possible it was 1955 or even earlier if it was stored first. Is your serial near mine as listed above?

Within 300 then, pretty close! Looking again, mine is actually a 265 movement so not quite the same.

I know this is an old post - but I have recently acquired a 266 cased in a Dennison 13322 case (9KT gold).
And it does have a signed crown - which I believe to be original. But that's only based on the appearance of things. I don't know the history of the watch.

Here is the crown that came on mine...

Here is the inside back of the case...

Here is a shot of the 266. Absolutely amazing condition - in my opinion. The dial side of this movement looks even better.

Interesting (to me) - my dial doesn't bear the "Swiss Made" mark at 6 o'clock. Though frankly, there isn't really room for it.

Would love to know more specifics about mine. Like what is the Omega Reference number? It looks very similar to some watches labeled 2800-x.

For what it's worth. Mine had this crown.

    tdn-tk,

Yep - that looks like my crown.

If mine is plated - it is definitely a "Superior Plating Treatment" (per description). It shows no sign of wearing through anywhere. And I can tell by the case that the watch has definitely been worn quite a bit over it's lifetime.

    Thanks for posting!
