As I posted before I have bought a Omega Seamaster 300 165014 last week however I don't have a strap/bracelet for the watch. (I do have some nato's on which I wear the watch right now) In the book Omega Sportwatches it is illustrated on a kind of Tropical strap: When I look in Moonwatch Only for bracelets belonging to a straight lug speedmaster from 1965 I think it might have been a 7912 1501 or 1506? I also saw this advertisement from a mesh bracelet? http://omegaforums.net/threads/extremely-rare-omega-stainless-steel-mesh-bracelet.19455/ But can someone tell me what the options were back then?
From an Omega bracelet chart I have, it is most likely to have had a 7912 with 6 ends. Happy hunting!
As already stated (dependant on the year of your 165.014) 7912 with N6 ends, hope you have deep pockets? The mets bracelets are a much nicer alternative to the stretch bracelets, these were option extra's back in the day, the example you have referred to is one of my old bracelets and where made by DS&S in the UK for UK market only
According to the Omega certificate my watch has been produced on 16 july of 1965 and has been delivered to Asia. So the mesh bracelet was not for my watch? Or was that specific bracelet only for the UK? I don't really like the look of my watch on the 7912 I think, the mesh bracelet looks much nicer in my opinion...
Numerous companies produced mesh bands and even for Omega at that time including DS&S in the UK and JB Champion in the USA As it is a 1965 watch the BCT may have tipped over to the 1506, fundamentally the same with e different claps but the end links would have still been N6
A 1035 will be the cheapest and easiest to find option. Then you need the 19mm no.6 ends...good luck with those...and also take care and watch out for the fake no.6's which are doing the rounds now!
Tried the 18mm mesh from my chronostop today on the watch, and now I definately know that I will start searching for a 19mm Omega mesh
You can find that JBChampion made some bracelets that are very very close to the 7912. Solid end links. Very high quality manufacturing. Small amount of fab work and you can make a very presentable, period correct, bracelet. I pick them up every time I see them.
