Hi there,

are vintage Omega Corfam straps and buckles period correct on a Speedmaster 105.012-65? I couldn't find any infos or samples in old catalogues. But I've read that these are from the 60s.

I would be happy to get some feedback. Thank you!

I can’t say for sure, but I would assume so. In this thread, there is a picture of a later model on what appears to be a Corfam strap:

The ad is in German, but “seewasserfestem” means water resistant, which is exactly what the Corfam strap is.

So it definitely did come on later models than yours.

Thanks for your reply!
Yes, I saw that ad with a 145.022 as well. And that strap looks exactly like mine. But still I wonder if Omega sold those straps with the older 105.012-65 watches. The extract of my Speedmaster doesn't mention a bracelet. It would be great if that Corfam strap would accomplish the period correct assembly of my watch.

From what I understand, in many markets the watch head was sold alone and the bracelet/strap was an option decided by the buyer at the time of purchase. Since Corfam straps were available from the 1960s, I would feel safe assuming that it was an option.

Good luck in finding proof.

Cool museum piece! I have tried older generic Corfam straps that had never been used. They cracked when I inserted the spring bars. Use with care or proudly display as part of your collection.

It was NOS from a retired watchmaker. I actually own that strap for 5 or 6 years. I've worn it a few times, but thought I should not rely on it to hold my Speedmaster on my wrist. That's why I intend to keep it along with my collector's 105.012-65.
