What are the top three or four most desirable vintage (Gents) Omega Constellation models?

Looking for a nice collectable watch and wonder which models and dates I should be looking at.

Of course it is a nice given that one needs to like the appearance of the piece.

You should probably look through various threads on the forum and decide what you personally like, not what other people tell you are the most desirable.

The most sought after models are from the 1950s and 1960s, particularly those with pie pan dials, although there are beautiful dome dial models too. Some folks prefer the lyre lug references and others like the dog leg style cases. Still others prefer the later C case models. Some collectors want gold cases, others prefer steel. Reading Desmond’s blog and the many OF threads on the subject is is a good start. The attraction of Connies is the variety. There literally is something for everyone.

That's the great thing about collecting Omega in general for any period of time. It's an evolution and it doesn't matter which line I'm into, my tastes will change and develop over the years.

The most extreme for me are my Seamasters which cover the 50's, 60's and 70's. With each decade having been a specific period of my collecting journey.

Not an investment as such. Just enjoy a stately looking watch which prompt’s conversation.

It would be nice if it holds its value.

I have a Rolex Gold President day date. Owned it for 23’years. Have never thought about selling it.
Not sure what it is worth relative to the purchase price.

.

Tastes and fashions change and beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so the best advice is to buy a Constellation that appeals to you.

A 50s lyre lug with arrowhead dial is probably about as collectible as it gets.

on the other hand some might say a dogleg with pie pan dial is the zenith of Constellation design

- but no matter the style, condition, condition, condition for a collectible piece is everything.

Pick a style that appeals to you and focus on learning what makes a good example - then when you find something you can always post it on OF for comments.
