Constellation with weird (?) hands

Hey people, just looking on opinions on this piece. It's a Constellation with Honeycomb and crosshair dial, which is a nice combination. This is apparently a version that predates the fully automatic movement, as this one is a "bumper" automatic.

The only thing that weirded me out is those hands, as I've only ever seen dauphine hands on Constellations, although the seller has told me that these hands have been used on bumper constellations, and that it was purchased from a reputable watch dealer in my area.

He's asking $1200 CAD for it. All original apparently, besides the strap. What's everyone's opinions? Thoughts on the hands? On bumper movements? I've had my eye on a Constellation with a crosshair dial for a good while now. Just want a second opinion before I move further.

There's a few problems here apart from the incorrect hands which have never been seen on a Constellation.

The most serious of which is the state of the 354 movement, which as a chronometer, should have the 5 adjustments engraved on the rotor. Also I'd expect a serial on the other bridge which is also miissing. Conclussion: full movement swap or multiple parts swapped.
Secondly it has a wrong crown and thirdly I'd like more pictures of the dial before giving it a "buy pass" as it looks to maybe be missing minute hash marks.

What is the case reference?

I don't have that information on hand, but I'm sure I could ask him for it. Here is the only other pic of the movement I have.

Thanks for your help! I noticed the crown looked odd too. I think I'll steer clear of this one for now, but I'm always interested in learning more about Constellations. Really appreciate it.

I'll tell ya what, that dial is looking pretty good on my monitor. I would imagine all the value of that watch is going to be in that dial. The movement and hand issues can be solved for a price. Unfortunately you would have to get that watch for 1/3 the asking price or less to consider gambling on finding the parts for a reasonable price .

Yeah, I'm on my phone and can't make a good call on the dial.

Oh, and getting back to the $1200 price, I think the seller is fully aware of the problems, otherwise he'd be asking 50-75% more for it.

The dial looks repainted to me at first glance, but I'd really need to see higher resolution photos with the hour hand not obscuring the print.

I think the dial is original. Could it be a ref. 2648 like mine, shown here?

I think the dial is original, but the hands have been replaced. The movement is also not used for the Constellations.

I can't tell if its a snap back or a screw back, OP? Then I'd go either 2782 or 2652, the bezel on a 2648 is thinner and the dial slightly bigger.

I asked the guy for pics of the movement and he said he'd have to take it to his jewellers to remove the caseback, which was slightly confusing as most people should be able to remove either a snapback or a screwback with relative ease. In any case, there's too many red flags here for me to sink the money into it. I'll wait for the right constellation to come along.

I would like to thank everyone here who took the time to help me out, this forum is super helpful. Thanks!
