Here is a Con ?14381 which looks nice (haven't seen the movement so far), and on the dial, the font for "Constellation" seems OK - well, for the first four letters, then it goes all italic...
    Do my eyes deceive me?
Is this incorrect, or have I not studied enough yet? I would expect the letters "ll" to be straight up at 90 degrees?
Why would anyone do this? It's meant to be a gold dial, so surely it couldn't have sustained damage that demanded this sort of attention?
Apologies for all the question marks. Not buying or selling, just want to understand the wide world of beautiful 50/60s Connies, thanks.

I also would call this a redial. The second markings don't look correct to me.

As you already mentioned, the fonts are totally off. Furthermore the minute markers are badly aligned. Definitely a redial.

The unanswered question on my list is the why - especially given this piece is being sold by a "reputable" dealer. This thing was presumably in marketable shape before it got messed with. A gold dial doesn't acquire the sort of patina that some folks try to paint over. Now it will only sell at cost to their reputation (they haven't mentioned the artwork in their blurb). So, er, what's up here?

"Is this incorrect, or have I not studied enough yet?" Interpret my post however you want, I couldn't care less. I was responding to the quoted sentence in the OP.

Who is the 'reputable' dealer? There are quite a few who some people think are, but many/ most know are not...

Funny, but looking at their ad they make no claims on way or another about the dial other than it is gold. And it's an authentic Omega, which it is.

Many dealers operate in this manner -- selling crap but not directly lying about it.

I would never take "Trusted Seller" on Chrono24 as meaning they are a 'reputable' seller. Not at all. Ever.

    About us
"TodoReloj has the Chrono24's "Trusted Seller" seal since 2008 and our online sales are more than 500 watches worldwide.
TodoReloj guarantees the authenticity and proper operation of all our watches. The watches are sold with a detailed invoice (brand, model, serial number, etc.) from TodoReloj.
All photos used TodoReloj are original and correspond to the items for sale. "

I put this in Italics to follow the proper form of the seller :whistling:, however I must disrespectfully disagree with the statement and the sellers description.

The dial is one of (it not, the) major component of a watch. Rather than buying this, then spending a significant amount of money having head office refinish the dial (which will then look better but will be a redial nonetheless), why not buy an original one?
