Constellation: white gold or stainless-steel hour-markers and hands?

    With that rust, the hands have to be steel.

    My understanding is white gold with rhodium plating on the markers. The hands on this watch look like plated, corroded steel. Whether they were original I can not say.

    I believe that the hands are original. They were steel and if the dial did not have any lume, neither did the hands.

    Remember that it's a lot easier to replace the hands than the dial markers. Cost for replacements are reasonable. That would not be the case if they were solid gold.

    I appreciate your telling me, replacing the stainless-steel hands is not going to be that expensive, compared to gold ones. Since they are original to the watch, probably my friend will just live with those corroded hands. It is hoped, the price will still be within his budget.
