Constellation dials; Case ref & calibre?

Hello OF members,
I’ve been a member of OF for a number of years. After 40 years in the Oil & Gas industry I am now transitioning into semi-retirement I hope to spend more time on my hobby of watch collecting. I have a number of Omega watches, also a few JLC, Rolex & assorted other brands that I have acquired over the last 22+ years or so. I have bought a couple of pieces through the OF Private Watch Sales forum. However, this is my first post.

I’m really impressed by the depth of knowledge of many of the OF members. I’d appreciate it if anyone can identify two Constellation dials that I bought several years ago. Particularly what case ref & calibre these dials would fit? I appreciate any help that anyone may be able to offer.

Dimensions for dial without date window (below) are as follows: Diameter 29.6mm; Feet positions correspond to the 25 minute & 54 minute marker positions. Feet are 6mm inset from the edge of the dial.

Dimensions for dial with date window (below) are as follows: Diameter 29.4mm; Feet positions correspond to the 20 minute & 57 minute marker positions. Feet are 2.5mm inset from the edge of the dial. Visible print on the pics on reverse of dial - ZJ 0801. Also on the reverse, but not visible in pics, the number 357205 is printed twice, once with ZJ suffix - I’ve added text boxes to depict the position of this number.

Any help to identify case ref & calibre for these dials is greatly appreciated.

Thanks to the Omega Forums for providing the platform for me to access such great resources.

Best Regards,
Roger

I don’t know the dimensions off the top of my head, but I’d put my money on..

Black waffle dial - 2652 or 2782
Silver dial - 168.005

Can you provide more photos of the first one? If it’s original, DIBS!!

Welcome @wrog

I’m afraid I haven’t held onto dial sizes either ( I think @hoipolloi does have this info)
Different references do have very slightly different dial diameters.
The silver dome dial could also be 168.004 / 168.010 - size dependent obviously.
It’s possible the dial feet will fit both a cal 561 and cal 564

Stunning dials being pictured in this thread. We have a black waffle constellation bumper in our storage space and I'll try to find a picture of it to post here in the meanwhile 👍

My photographic skills are poor but I'll take some more shots in the next couple of days.

I received a beautiful dial today and learned that a 29.6mm diameter dial does not fit in a 2652 reference case 🤦🙁, it is too large and probably belongs to a 2648 reference.

So you were the one who snatched it. Congrats. If this is the one from Japan, though, it did say 2648 in the article description and showed a 2648 as comparison? 😁

I was following it to the last second, but had just used my funds on that platform for something else. Condition looks great, good luck on the hunt for a fitting case!

Have you read - and understood - the first four posts?😁😁

When they were posted in August last year - just now, I only saw your post, recognized a the dial and was surprised. 😀

I made a similar "mistake". In my rush to fit my dial into a watch I bought a complete 2652 - dial didn't fit.
I have now borrowed a 2782, when I get a chance to go to a watchmaker I will see if the dial fits. Also, it now looks like there's another option - 2648.

I guess that it should be in the same ref. as mine (ref. 2652)
😁
What is the diameter of your dial?
