·This is a charming 1950's Constellation Calendar reference 2943 in a gold cap case. Introduced in 1957 the 2943 and 2954 were the first Constellation references to feature a date and use the calibre 504. The production run of the 504 was about 25000 movements in total, so there are not too many of these still around when compared to some of the later Constellation references.
This one has a dome dial with nice patina to it. I have taken a few pictures in different lights to give a good idea of the 'marble' effect that can be seen under some light conditions. The dial also has a couple of tiny bubbles which I noticed when reviewing the macro's. The gold baton markers and dauphine hands are in very good condition and have developed an attractive colour over the years.
The gold cap case is in very good shape overall retaining a sharp defined bezel and strong lugs. The original slimline crown with small logo has lost some of its plating. The case back has a few small marks on it and the gold medallion is in an excellent state.
The calibre 504 has a 16.5 million serial number, dating it to approx 1959. The watch winds, sets and keeps good time with the date advancing just after midnight. I have no service history for this one.
€1050 head only, net to me which will include Track and Trace shipping worldwide. I prefer payment by Bank Transfer but will also accept PayPal for trusted and established OF members. Return is possible, but only if not as described.
Any questions just ask! 😀
