Unfortunately sellers find a gold watch and think it’s worth a king’s ransom.
The high value of a vintage watch is in its collectibility. I.e. nuts like us are willing to pay far more than it’s intrinsic value for something in good condition.
A major part of the value of a vintage watch is in its dial.
Next is the case.
Condition is everything.
Then you can add a premium for a precious metal.
Take away the collectibility factor and you’re left with a nice old watch - which does have a value since it’s an Omega Constellation but it’s a fraction of the value of a collectible.
