I noticed this nice looking constellation on an auction site. It just looks so crisp and clean. I have that "too good to be true" vibe about the dial. Pics:
I can't see anything wrong with the text. I think the dial is original but it's hard to be sure, as whoever took those photos swamped it in light. The case is heavily polished, though they seem to have left the medallion alone. The crown is incorrect.
Case looks too soft but that could be exaggerated by the bad photos. I’m trending towards original dial, but not sure.
Nothing wrong with the dial, but the lighting makes it impossible to ascertain the true condition. It could have severe bubbling (which I suspect the seller is trying to hide) or it could have been cleaned and have had its lacquer removed... Daylight photos from other angles are needed.
The seller only posted these angled shots in the super intense lighting. Ive been duped before on this same auction site, so I am skiddish. Thanks for helping me pass on this one!
As Edward stated, polished and wrong crown. Font is correct IMO but I would be very careful with this offer You say auction site: Current price is? How much are you willing to pay?
Is the winding assembly and the train bridge a different colour than the rest of the movement or is it just the crap pictures. It looks like a mix of movements.
If you like to gamble on watches I would recommend private offers with crappy pictures instead of prepared watches from dealers...
The dial looks legit to me. I think from the light that the owner is trying to hide the extent of the bubbling on the dial.
