Constellation bracelet

Ive got the "Manhattan" Constellation (mechanical) full bar. The bracelet over the years has been polished and has lost most of its brushed effect. My question is just how 'brushed' should the bracelet be ? Im thinking about taking this on and rebrushing it but I dont wish to over 'cook' it. Can anyone give me any ideas on this ?
