Dear members,
could you please share some thoughts on this Constellation from 1968, caliber 564, crosshair dial?
Serviced in July-22, price about 1'500.- USD.
It looks very fine to me.
My heart is beating, I wouldn't like to make a beginner mistake.
This might be my first Connie
Thank you

[Edit]: I forgot to mention that the strap is after market, no box, no paper.

I like it, a lot. An attractive piece in very good condition.

I can't find anything that would put me off buying it

Good looking watch.

There is a ding on the upper right lug and on the bezel at 3 but other than that the case is very good.

The case back shows historical signs of rotor rub but it has a contemporaneous replacement rotor and if it has been recently serviced it should be ok.

I would rather see a 168.018 nearer $1000

Nice, good that it has been serviced. I like the case a lot. You might have to look for a while to find as good a watch at a lower price.

It looks fine to me, but TBH not really having the features that typically make Constellations desirable to most people. Straight lugs, flat brushed bezel, flattish dial. Sort of a utilitarian Constellation with a Seamaster style. As such, the price seems quite high to me. Of course, that is a very subjective opinion, but you asked for our thoughts.

the "T" at the bottom of the dial would indicate Tritium Lume.
Thank you for the warning. Tritium should be completely inert by now. Good to know that it is not radium though.

Thanks about the tip on the rotor and a possible evaluation, much appreciated.

T<25 : yes! (100% dead) The old T as shown : probably , IMO keeps 10..20 % after exposure to UV-light

You startled me a bit at "100% dead" 😁

I don't know about this model but Crosshair on some Constellation's are pretty rare, for example on C-Case's, I've only seen 5 and own 3 of them - surprisingly they are more common in South America

I am not translating with googel, I just write as I think "it might work" , because English is similar to German 😀

FIFY

You may well be onto something here. 👍
With a quick search, I can't find another crosshair dialled 168.018
But neither can I find anything to cause concern about the authenticity of the dial on the OPs watch

I like it a lot. These are 35mm in diameter, which is small but more wearable than 34mm, for me. The cross hair is very cool, and looks right. All the facets and brushing on the case look good. I do think the price is a little high, but if you really like it you will forget about the price pretty quickly.

Not an expert on Connies but I used to own this ref and already trade it in for another watch for less than 900USD lately (my acquired price back then)
Agreed with above comments especially on rotor rubbing signs. I have had it addressed for about 70USD here in Vietnam.
Wear bigger than its 35mm diameter. Nice looking watch.
