    Howdy folks,

After quite some time on the hunt for a SS Connie PiePan and many near misses along the way I believe I may have found one that ticks my boxes. Good condition, inside budget, EU based.

I'm close to pulling the trigger but hoped to float it here for comment by any parties here who would care to offer their more experienced take on it.

It's a small watch shop/dealer offering it for sale.

It passes for me and I believe everything looks solid but I'm open to correction.

    Many thanks
    J

As above what’s the price, condition is absolutely bang on you wont find one nicer.
EDIT: I would have expected to see at least one ‘T’ next to Swiss Made but aside from that it looks great.

Thank you for the comments. I have wanted one of these for so long that I fear I carry a bias at this point. So many near misses and not quite rights in the past couple of years.

Fingers crossed this one goes to plan.

MOY is fine it’s a known variation. Also notice the oval O’s in Chronometer which again is correct.

Now I zoom in I can see what you are saying. At first glance I thought I saw 26 mil and 564.
Along with the lacking T there is no half marker next to the date window which is strange for this ref.
A full script 14902 dial and movement maybe?

looks like you are on to a winner here @Johnny_H
great case, little bit of damage end of bottom right lug
lovely dial - mis-aligned MOYS always bothers me but the fonts look good - and if @hoipolloi has looked at it and stayed silent - that would be good enough for me.

@Noddyman - this is an early 168.005, on the cusp of the serial number change.
would explain the missing index and no Ts
I think there are some bits of lume missing, including the dot at 3 (remnants are there)
(you could be correct that it is essentially a 14902 with a .005 case back -but not nefariously so)

there is some sign of rotor rub - so unless there is a documented full service, have the watch serviced.

1400euros, retail, is a pretty good deal nowadays for a watch in this condition

Nearly unpolished case, sharp dial, and pristine movement? 1400 does seem to be pretty reasonable considering how nice it is.

    Hi @Peemacgee ,
I’m just amazed how you pick up this type of detail. I missed so many things when I looked at the watch. I have a long long way to go.

    Great information!

@Peemacgee has an eagle's eye for condition & minute details.

I like this watch by the way.

Thank you for the compliment but I still consider myself a novice.
There are real masters on this forum who have forgotten more about Constellations than I’ll ever know.

The great thing about OF is that the more you read the threads from guys who know their stuff the more you learn.
