Constellation 167.005 authenticity check.

Hi guys,

Thinking of purchasing this Constellation.

Do you see any potential problems with condition or authenticity? Is this dial untouched? Has the watch been polished?

Case has been pretty aggressively polished, wrong crown, there is some patina on the dial and some pretty deep gouges on the case back from botched opening attempts. What's the asking price? You might be better holding off and looking for a better example.

Thanks, I did not notice the scratches on the case back at all.

Asking price is 1300 USD. I will hold off for a better example.

Always take a good hard look at the top left lug. That one gets the most hits and subsequently the most polishing.

For my own edification: can anyone comment whether the second "o" in "Chronometer" looks wonky?
Maybe glass refraction and additional pics would help but from first glance it does not look the same as the first "o"

Looks like there is a scratch in the crystal. Also, I don’t think these are the same size anyway.

Perfectly normal for certain Constellation dials.
A bit like the peculiar Cs in Officially Certified.

Beside the incorrect crown, everything else looks alright. Good buy if the price is fair.
P.S original crown goes for ~$200

A nice one is NOT cheap and it will be sold in very short time.
You may end up with nothing to play with.
