I have been given a "Second Chance Offer" on this item. Opinions, evaluations would be appreciated!

(Realized as soon as I posted that 14381 would be for a non date model.)

Looks to be in nice original sock drawer find shape unfortunately the dial photos aren't good enough for a proper evaluation and no inside shots either.

Based on the poor photos the dial seems to have a fair bit of age which I think the over exposed head on shot may be hiding.

There are lots of 14381's out there, this one is much less than perfect for sure, wait for a better one.

Thanks so much for the quick replies! Agreed, the seller's photo skills are poor, even worse than mine! I have requested better pictures including the movement. Seller is taking to watchmaker to have opened tomorrow. Unless better dial shots can be provided I have pretty much decided $867, is overpriced even if the paperwork belongs with watch.

Even accounting for spotting on the dial, this is very cheap for a full set 14.393 with a pie pan dial... I'd go for it in a heartbeat.

Dial looks like it has too many issues to me.

Wow, I'm impressed! How did you end up with that result from seller's overexposed pictures! It really brought out the imperfections in the dial. From what I'm seeing don't believe it's something I could live with.

Interesting box, btw. Are all Constellation w/bracelet packaged in a box with applied logo? The two 14.XXX sets I have (straps, not bracelets) have "standard" logos painted in gold.

About the dial - I believe that could possibly be cleaned. It's a no-lume dial, so shouldn't be too difficult. I only see light spotting on the dial.

If I didn't have the above mentioned Constellation sets already, I would be more than lightly tempted to get this one out of USA :)

I always have to wonder about second chance offers on eBay. They seem perfectly designed to shill bid someone to their max bid, then come back and offer it to them at that price. Not saying it's that way 100% of the time, but still.....

Yes, I always wonder too. Sometimes can tell by history of orig auction. Also asked why winning bidder retracted bids. Seller said winning bidder thought crown should be "more gold" colored. I suspect they got carried away bidding and had second thoughts based upon poor pics.

Here's bidding history and link to bidding page
