    Hello everyone!

First of all, I'd say i'm really happy being a member of this forum that enabled me to enlarge my knowledge of Omega vintage!
Indeed, I saw an Omega Seamaster Calendar last week, and I'm considering buying it.. But, as for every vintage watches, I'm searching for clues it's a good bargain.

This is the watch I've found (The model is : 2849-6 SC, caliber 503.) : what do you think about it? I've talked to the shop (Omega service center in Germany) who said it's a genuine one (signed glass, signed crown) and has been revised 5 monthes ago in the center service. The glasses and crowns are not original ones but have been replaced with Omega pieces (I supposed because the seller is an Omega service center). I cannot know if it has been redialed when i compare to other ones, but i guess so as glass and crowns have been replaced.

From that information, do you think this is a good way for me to buy my first Omega watch? It's sold at 980€ (i'd try to have 100€ discount because i think it's a little bit expensive for a watch without paper and not original pieces) ? The watch is in excellent conditions according to the seller, and the caliber503 is a famous one as i'm said.
Moreover, is it possible the Seamaster logo isn't present on the back of the watch?

    Here are the photos :

Thank you very much for welcome, and I look forward to reading you (excuse me for my english as i'm french!)

    Regards,
    Thibault

To my eyes the dial looks genuine, but I'm not an expert on the various Seamaster fonts. The case is very polished and has lost a lot of the sharp edges. I'd pass.

I concur. Fonts look more or less original, but there are some very skilled rediallers for these.

Particularly when the asking price is $1,100. Way too high, IMO, even after deducting ~20% for VAT.

As noted, price much too high for a over polished case, although the dial does appear to be original.

First seamonster case back did not appear until slightly later.

OPs watch should look like this.

Price too high for me, but I am a sucker for those black dials.
