I would like to purchase a vintage Seamaster or Constellation and, while I've learned a lot browsing this forum, my eye for detail isn't nearly as good as the experts here. I've narrowed my search down to three watches (I hope it's ok to post eBay links, I can post pictures instead if requested) and include my research so far:

    Seamaster DeVille: USD$1,200 obo

Condition of dial nearly spotless, most likely a re-dial although text looks really good. Doesn't seem over polished to me. I don't really know how to critique a movement.

    1966 Constellation: USD$1,000 obo

Dial has uniform patina may be original, although the first T in "T Swiss Made T" is missing. It says case has been professionally polished but the soft edges make it look almost over polished? Big gouge on the rear obviously didn't polish out.

    1963 Constellation: USD$1,200 obo

Not really sure how to critique this one because I haven't been able to find much about this model. Both the "Omega" and "C" in Constellation look pretty bad to my untrained eye. Perhaps a bad re-dial?

Would it be possible to get your opinion on these watches? Is the list price appropriate for the condition of each watch?

Hi and welcome. I think it helps if you post a picture if each watch along with the link and price.

It just stops people having to go back and forth between eBay (my phone then opens the app) and the forum, if there are obvious flaws that can be seen from one picture.

I'm not Iove with any of them.

The Seamaster DeVille is by far the best of the lot. I think at $1,200 it's a bit overpriced. I'd like a lot better in the $700 to $900 range.

The pie-pan dial looks original to me, but the seller should have said the case was professionally "over-polished". Not a fan of that one.

The last one is a pretty obvious redial. Compare the dial with #2.

    Hope this helps,

18k with that good look would be hard to find at that low range, methinks.
