Hey guys I'm considering to buy a new omega speedmaster professional. I was thinking I'd get a more recent model but I've come up with a speedy that the seller claims to be circa 1969. Tehre are some photos below so you can see it. My doubt is: Do you think it's original? How much do you think it's worth? One of the things that have made me think a ltoa bout this lately is the fact that the 8 o«clock mark in the dial has some issues. should i be too concerned? Looking forward to hearing your opinion since all my knowledge about these watches come through searching the internet. Thanks
The dial would bother me as would the caseback engraving, if its a '69 the bezel is a later replacement and the bracelet is missing both of which are costly to get right. Unless it was really cheap, I'd not be a buyer at all.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. The seller has 2 speedys, one is the "69" and the other is this which is way more recent (not totally sure on the model tho), 1900 for the 1st 2200 for this
There was a nice one on the sales forum for a very good price... https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-speedmaster-145-0022-w-box-and-papers.23902/ Hang around, there will be others.
Thanks for the replies, but as i live in portugal I'd prefer to buy it from a local seller, so i have to keep asking for advice for my "finds".. Here it is! Do you think this one is original? It seems to be in pretty ok condition and the seller is asking for around 2k
