Love both of them Revo - suspect you are on a slippery slope now. Possibly cheaper than a Smiths automatic!,

I'm fairly certain I want an automatic from 1950s / 60s. A simple stainless steel model (ideally with nice beefy lugs), cal. 5xx, original dial (ideally white / cream with the 12
So far the ones I've looked at on ebay are:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Omega-Cal-471-1956-Seamaster/254937391979

and (my favourite)

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-1950s-Omega-Seamaster-CAL-501-UK/174710787445

So going back to the beginning of the thread I’m realizing @Revo you got the watch referenced in the second Ebay link- trading it for a couple Smiths watches seems like a great idea.
Posting the initial listing for the record.

@Syrte yes, the Smiths were good 'uns (a 1954 A409 also in a Dennison case and a 1969 Astral with a W10 movement) so we were both happy. Seller was a lovely chap, too.

I was thinking a grey Eulit perlon might be a good look. Annoyingly I thought I had one but I must have sold it with a watch.

Sorry I just spotted you post and here is an image of what is now her ladyships watch on grey perlon, obviously shot taken before it changed hands 😉

Now it’s very clear how @Revo can pacify his wife 😉

@Alpha, that looks great! I need some of those Speedmaster-esque stick hands for mine. (Quick WTB: anyone got a set?). Strap-wise, I've got it a on a vintage brown leather deployant, a combination I really like.
