Now that I gave my IWC GST 3536 to my son for his graduation, his dad needs a new 'holiday' watch. Also used to vintage Rolex as a 5513, 1680 and 1665 I all sold recently, I want a basic and waterproof watch. Not going back to the new Sub as they are not my taste (too flashy). I am considering a Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial 41 mm ref 233.30.41.21.01.001 on steel bracelet. I can put on a NATO and/or leather strap and I am a happy camper. Or should I buy the Trilogy or a Spectre Edition, if that makes sense. I love to hear your advise and thoughts. PS posting photos might help too
The Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial 41 mm looks great. I have the Trilogy and find that it has the same vintage feel as my 1680 and 5513 but can be worn without a second thought. I wear mine on a black vintage shell cordovan rather than the bracelet shown, so it is super light and comfortable. Can't go wrong with any of the options you are considering.
We all love the lollipop, but I do not see any reason to pay so much extra for the Spectre edition. That said how does the 'normal' version keeps value ?
the trilogy bracelet and "pearl holder" on the bezel are fantastic. will come down to movement/case back preference i guess.
I would prefer the trilogy... Only drawback would be (as with all 300s) that when you wear them with a nato strap they seem a bit too thick... How you thought of the 300m? Cheers
What I like about the Trilogy compared to the regular 300 is its size, less shiny appearance and also the different bezel. The Spectre is already 4 years old so warranty only with a new one. On the 300M: It is too much a diver for me, where the 300 is much more neutral. The IWC 3536 I used to wear was much more understated too.
This afternoon I ordered a brand new Seamaster 1957 Trilogy. I choose this version as I love the dial, bezel-details and size. Also it appears less shiny compared to its 41mm sibling. Probably only disadvantage its that the NATO will not look odd but I have to find out. Metal bracelet and leather will probably do better
