Hey guys, Not sure if this one has been discussed, didn't find it. Anyway, a few pic. A bit beat up, but nothing wrong with that. Dial appears ok, hands alright though seller states chrono second hand is not original. Case a bit dinged but sharp, movement, hmm, looks ok. Seller says doesn't run as reliably while chrono is running. Is that indicative of a major problem? Caseback looks *very sharp, too sharp? DON bezel.. and 29m serial by the looks of it, or is that 23m? 29 would be too high. What else needs saying?
Technically, am I looking at the right things? Personality of this one aside, what else might I be looking for? Any tips? Anything jump out that I missed? Edit: and THANK you for the feedback!
Case back is suspiciously pristine, wish there were more pics of the rest of the case, it looks polished but tough to see overall condition. Crown, chrono hand look like service replacements to me. 6oclock register hand looks odd in pic, probably just bad lighting.
Since it's not gonna be a buy, here's the full listing, not that it's a secret supplier.. http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=6960137&rid=0#msg_6960137
If this is to be your ONLY Speedy then maybe look for a better example. But...Really ... The price seems lower than what a good 145.012 would fetch, no? Any mechanical or water damage ? Have a talk with the seller and if the price is reduced a bit ( you now have some details to inform the discussion ) ... get it, IMHO And if you do get it, send it in for a service immediately. My 2 cents I can get u a less pristine caseback, too LoL
I thought there was a brass piece under the screw which was missing but realise now its part of the plate which is there with the screw hole in it
