    Morning all

This is a good looking 168.004
That is everything but the Lume dots on the indices
They look a bit too 'robust' to me
However the colour matches the hands - and both look nicely aged
    So two scenarios:
Lume was replaced on dial and hands at the same time (some time ago) or carefully matched
Or it was just a bad Lume day at the office for Omega when applying the indices dots

I seem to recall someone posting a really nice pie-pan not that long ago with similarly 'chunky' Lume dots

Any opinions on the variability of Omega lume quality generally but on this watch in particular?

I agree with you. Those lume dots seem a bit big for an omega.

    Such a shame really
Very honest watch in pretty good condition with B&Ps
Up for grabs in UK auction in the next hour or so if anyone interested

Wow - Sold for just short of £1,100 including commission
Bearing in mind this was a dome dial with suspect Lume
Not Speedy-like appreciation but Connies have certainly gone up in the past 12 months

Is it rare to have the cross hairs on this reference?

    That's quite expensive

Would have called that a £650 Constellation, even in that condition...

Even with the current price rises I expected around £6-700 all in too

However, this is the best Connie that has come up at auction in the UK for quite a long time
(The only one I've considered in around 6 months)
But even given that the price is very high

For me, this is one of the less attractive styles, probably the reason why I didn't value it higher. The look most people think of when saying "Omega Constellation" is, IMO, a more conservative style, probably a 168.005 with a pie pan dial. It could be fun writing up on the hierachy of Constellations :)

I love the round cases dome dial Connies

Oddly enough I think of them as more conservative then the dog legs and pie pans
They are incredibly easy to wear
But agree that the 'classic' Connie is a pie-pan

Starting a thread about ranking Connies would be a brave move indeed

    Get yourself a tin-hat!
