    hi,

I recently purchased a Seamaster Professional 2264.50 which I think is 2005. On the warranty card the watch number says 59248160 but I've just noticed on the lug it says 59333434. Making me wonder if it's genuine

Well, at least not a good indicator to start with as the watch's serial number should match the one on the card. Where did you by from?

Did you buy the watch new? How long ago did you buy it? You mentioned the year being 2005. Are you concerned about a warranty issue?

No, just noticed the number on the lug doesn't match that of the card I was given with it. It is used but from a jeweller

Save yourself the journey. The cards are irrelevant for a watch that old. If there is a serial number on the lug the chances that the watch is fake are minimal.
Cards often get mixed up at the dealer when the watch is first purchased and nobody notices.

Google the serial number on the lug. Fakes often have the same serial.

The cards are relevant as they affect the price. Pre owned with matching cards signed and dated fetch a better price in resale.
Indeed the serial number on the lug will prove the watch to be genuine or not. That the cards got mixed when first purchased is certainly a possibility. Human error is common.

Hope he got it rectified. Far more chance with a new one to have it sorted then with a 10 year old pre owned watch.
It happened to me as well a few years back. Same watch as above, 2264.50 pre owned and also 2005. The card was signed and dated by the jeweller but the space for the serial number was left blank. Model number on both cards is right. It didn't show on the web site pictures as only the top part of the card was shown in the card wallet. Only noticed it months later. The watch was found to be genuine by Omega. Next pre owned I'll ask for full pictures of the cards.
    You live and learn.
    Regards

    Hi,

I have been unable to get into the jewellers today but I did email them. The watch came with a warranty card on which the watch number is 59248160. IT came with a warranty card from the jewellers on which the watch number is the same. However, on the lug on the bottom right hand side there is a number that reads 59333434 (or similar). I am under the impression the number on the lug should be the same as the watch number on the warranty cards??

You're fine just the wrong card with the wrong watch but your timepiece is good.

No. He only found out after I bought the watch from him. Also not an issue for me as I sold the watch back to him

Hi, so took the watch back and jewellers confirmed a mix up with the cards. I insisted on them proving to me that the watch was genuine and not stolen etc. Given the cards came with it and questioned how they had verified and valued the watch. They have agreed to send the watch off to Omega in Switzerland and have it serviced and verified.

Now I am wondering why they didn't just have me take it to an Omeage dealer in the Uk for valuation/verification. Thoughts??

did they send it on your behalf? if so you may not be able to return it,
also make sure upon receiving it, if it was full serviced make sure there is a warranty given for the work done

and it is an older model so its also good its being serviced as well, be sure to ask for the extended two year warranty from omega to also clarify that they did not send it to an independent watchmaker
