Got the update that it will be rectified under warranty with no cost for me now that they know the full story. Omega making good on their warranty service, for which Im very grateful of course and can continue to save up for my third one...That said, my confidence in this particular model to be anywhere near water is very low now after 2 of these incidents which takes some of the comfort away in wearing it.

Glad to know that they are fixing it under warranty, but did they actually tell you the damage is from water ingress?

No that's still my unfounded assumption, I have asked for clarification on the cause of the defect. Will report back when I know more.

There has not been any accident or incident so what could it otherwise be? The dial and hands also needs replacing.

Ironically I left the watch home when going on holiday as was afraid it could not handle (mundane) camping life, then having to come back to find the watch no longer working in the exact safe spot I left it in.

Good result, glad it got sorted 👍

Man, pretty crazy this happened to you again. After I got mine back last fall, I even swam with it twice. No issues. Have from time to time since then cleaned it with a soft brush and soap under the faucet. No issues.
Did they ever tell you what they thought caused the first incident you had “repaired”? Maybe in your case they failed to actually replace the suspect part, I dunno. For mine, it seemed to turn out it was the case tube that was faulty from the factory. Regardless, I really feel for you. Never should’ve happened again. I’d be super pissed and bummed, too.

Just sent an enquiry through the Omega website in the first instance. I’ll see what comes of it.

Sent it off on the 10th and just received it via DPD today. I have to say that was a very efficient 10 day turnaround. It had a ‘water resistance service’ under warranty whatever that includes - no spare parts returned so I assume they took it apart and put it back together again and everything looked okay? Pretty decent all the same.

Ah that's great man, superb service, looks fantastic.

What bracelet is that btw? Looks really good on the FOIS.

Mine back as well, all looking wonderful again. Collected it a while back but didn't get round to posting earlier.

What surprised me is that I got a new warranty card as well as evidence of the (pressure) tests done. Not sure how to read the stats (see attached) but gives confidence that it was done properly. Makes me suspicious though that maybe last time the service wasn't as thorough as it was this time as then didn't receive warranty card nor outcome tests.

They gave it a complete polish as well which was not what I wanted but didn't think of providing that requirement when handing in the watch. Was actually happy with some of the dings and scratches that were taking some of the shine away that this model has plenty of. No biggie and my fault I suppose and just very grateful for service of restoring the watch.

Hopefully this is the last time I'll have the post this issue in here. Will try real hard to keep the Railmaster away from any water.

I would think you would be more confident now seeing it passed a pressure test?👎

Is that absolutely guaranteed then? Remember this is the second time they fixed the same issue, so hence my hestitation to trust that this model can handle water well.

Seems like you got a bit more detail back from them regards a pressure test! I just got the watch back with a receipt of the water resistance service. Its not had a problem since so I'm going to assume it was all sorted. I hope yours runs into no more problems too.

Its a 1125/617 on my FOIS...

I would have faith in the pressure test results but it's your watch so I can understand you're not willing to take any risks anymore given previous experiences.

Interesting timing results. Dial down amplitude 30 degrees less than dial up at full wind. 😲

If you see any timing issues, get it back in before the warranty runs out.

Oh ok, very perceptive of you, that doesn’t sound like normal variation of the watch’s heartbeat.

I don’t have any tools to measure with any accuracy, maybe I’ll use online atomic time as a benchmark or so for 24 hours and see how it performs.
