Close to buying my holy grail- Advise please!

After a couple of years of searching I'm finally close to getting my holy grail watch (The Omega Moonphase Aventurine 311.30.44.32.01.001). This will potentially be my first pre-owned purchase, but at over £12k I would like to see OF counsel and advise on what I should be wary off.

The watch is held at pre-owned shop (so not a private sale). I've seen the watch (albeit in haste), but only saw a photo of the Warranty card. I was surprised to see the warranty card is dated 2021 from an OB in Russia. Surprised because I know it's an old discontinued model from Circa 2012/13. Is it possible that it's sat in the boutique for that long?

Any chance that the card could not be genuine? Does it matter that it's purchased from OB in Russia (I'm guessing it would still be under 5 year warranty if genuine). Again, I ask because some of the Russian OB's are not temporarily closed.

I will do a second view and will ask to inspect cards/box in more details, so any advise on what to look out for will be gratefully appreciated.

I know these are probably basic silly questions to most OF members, but after being scammed earlier this year (from private sale on here), naivety and a desire to get my holy grail easily kicks in. Thanks in advance!

A great choice and one of the watches I am sorry not to have bought when prices were a bit lower.

These were sitting quite long in boutiques, I remember that in Bern, Switzerland, the OB had one still in 2019.

I believe the reason back then was the very steep price tag, given that the „normal“ Speedy cost ~half back then, combined with the larger size of the Aventurine Moon model.

Now prices for all Omegas went up so therefore it seems less of a premium.

This is of course all subjective.

Just make sure the dial is in perfect condition with no cracks or other markings, the dials are fragile.

These sat around in showcases for various reasons so a card dated 2021 from Russia is not out of the question, a lot of stuff from Russia was liquidated in the last couple of years. There is one on C24 NIB with card dated 2018, so anything is possible.

Thanks all. That's reassuring re authenticity of the card. I'll check the dial for sure, especially as you mentioned they are fragile.

I know at the time the watch wasn't popular due to the large size and price- I'd see a few people selling at a reasonable price, pre-owned about 3-4 years ago- Price is gone up and also it's hard to come by now- The latter being the main element of wanting to bite the bullet

Be aware that once you get your grail, the thirst for another one will come back eventually.

Truth. The quest for the Holy Grail is only the prelude to the quest for the Holier Grail. On and on it goes.
