The West is having record heat, well up into Canada. Small place in BC broke the all time hottest temperature in Canada at least twice in the last few days, reaching 47.5 C yesterday (117.5 F for those who are metrically challenged). The news article said the hottest temperature ever recorded in Las Vegas was 47.2 for comparison...
Makes our 31 C with humidity feeling like 41 C pretty tame today. I was in Adelaide in Australia in 2019 the day they set a record at the time, of 47 C.
