Hello to all of you. I was was wondering what the best way is to clean your Speedmaster. Since I am only a happy owner for just over a week now this thought crossed my mind, çause last week was a hot week so my wrist and therefor the watch got sticky. I know that the Speedy is not particular a watersport fan, so I wonder how to make it proper again.
I give mine a wipe with a soft microfibre cloth to get rid of dust and grease, Every couple of weeks it gets a going over with a very soft toothbrush and dish soap using minimal water and keeping the crown and pushers away from any water.
I wash my watch under running water with crown side down after cleaning it in water mixed with mild shampoo. I dry it with lint free soft cloth. I do it only when the bracelet gets dirty in dust or other impurities. Normally I clean my watches with soft moist cloth and that's enough for a regular dirt.
I wash my modern Speedmaster in water and soap from time to time, using a soft toothbrush to clean in the hard to reach places around the bezel etc.
With all my watches that have bracelets, the bracelet is removed, and it, the bracelet ends, and spring bars go into the ultrasonic. I use peg wood in the creases of the watch, then moist toothbrush to cleanup the case back, between the lugs, and anywhere else attention is needed. A quick swish in warm (not cold) water for the watch, then scrub and rinse the bracelet, and compressed air to dry everything. If the crystal needs a polish, I attend to that, then rinse the watch again.
I put my speedmasters in with the clothes every time I do a 60 degree wash After an extra spin they come out looking perfect.
I scrub mine in washing up water with a nail brush. They are 50m water resistant. Astronauts wear them in a pool They land in the Ocean
I do the same but put them in the dishwasher. I find the steam and the drying cycle makes them come out very shiny. They are also accurate to twice a day. You also get the casserole dishes done at the same time.
He was talking about LINGERIE, not LAUNDRY! The words sound so similar, I can see why you might be confused!
In my household unwashed underwear is laundry, but I respect your right to feel different - and also your right to wear said dirty underwear
Hot-damn...you mean it’s most likely your lingerie I’m damaging my Speedmaster with (I wondered what the red ‘scratchy stuff’ was)
